LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- 49ers star tight end George Kittle has been sidelined from practice this week with a groin injury, and his status against the Bears on Sunday seems to be in some doubt.

Kittle appeared on the injury report Wednesday and missed practice again Thursday. It remains unclear how he suffered the injury. The 49ers' injury report Friday will offer clarity for his status in the season opener at Soldier Field.

The Bears' injury report remained unchanged Thursday. Rookie receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) didn't practice, while rookie defensive end Dominique Robinson (knee) was a limited participant.

Kickoff between the Bears and 49ers comes at noon CT Sunday from Soldier Field.
