(670 The Score) New Bears general manager Ryan Poles has made a series of promotions to his scouting department and football administration staffs as he continues to reshape his options at Halas Hall.
The Bears promoted Breck Ackley to the role of assistant director of college scouting and Chris White to the position of assistant director of pro scouting. Ackley was previously an area scout while White was a pro scout.
Sam Summerville and Francis Saint Paul were promoted to the roles of senior national scout. Tom Bradway (Northeast) and Ryan Cavanaugh (Midwest) were hired as area scouts. John Syty (Southwest) and Brendan Rehor (Southeast) each received different scouting regions. Charles Love was promoted as a pro scout.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the work our player personnel staff and scouts have put in to this organization since January,” Poles said in a statement. “These promotions and hirings are all well-deserved and put us in a great position moving forward when it comes to scouting the best talent at the collegiate and NFL levels.”
The Bears also announced Ashton Washington was promoted as player personnel coordinator.
Washington was the franchise's first full-time female scout when hired last year. An alumna of the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship, she has now been promoted by Ryan Poles in Chicago's scouting department.
The Bears also hired Ryan Weese as a new scouting assistant. Mike Santarelli, who was previously the director of football systems, was promoted to executive director of football technology. James Cosh was promoted as manager of football administration/pro scout.
Poles, hired by the Bears as general manager in January, tabbed Ian Cunningham as his assistant general manager. He recently announced Trey Koziol and Jeff King as co-directors of player personnel.
