LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — Bears nose tackle Eddie Goldman didn't participate in practice Wednesday at Halas Hall due to a knee and ankle injury, while edge rusher Khalil Mack (groin), edge rusher Robert Quinn (back) and receiver Darnell Mooney (back) were limited.
The absence of Goldman, who opted out of the 2020 season, comes after he dealt with a back issue during training camp. It's unclear how he suffered his latest injuries, and Bears coach Matt Nagy wasn't made available for comment Wednesday. The Bears visit the Los Angeles Rams for the season opener Sunday night.

The Bears added defensive line depth Wednesday morning by signing defensive tackle Margus Hunt and nose tackle Damion Square to their practice squad. Hunt or Square would need to be activated by 3 p.m. CT Saturday in order to serve on the active roster Sunday.
Chicago will play without defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. on Sunday as he serves as the first of a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

As is usually the case when players are listed with limited statuses, it wasn't clear whether Mack, Quinn and Mooney experienced injuries during practice or were limited as a precaution. Each player was present and in uniform. Reserve linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe (shoulder) was also limited in practice. Tight end Jimmy Graham was held out for a veteran rest day.
The Bears’ injury report Wednesday marked their first of the regular season. The team will issue game statuses Friday.
Kickoff between the Bears and Rams comes at 7:20 pm CT from SoFi Stadium.
