(670 The Score) The Bears on Thursday worked without star linebacker Roquan Smith and rookie receiver Darnell Mooney for a second straight day.
Smith (elbow) and Mooney (ankle) both left Chicago's loss to Green Bay last Sunday with their respective injuries. It has put their status in question for the Bears' game against the Saints on Sunday in the wild-card round. The Bears will issue their final injury report of the week Friday, offering an indication to whether Smith or Mooney will play Sunday.
Bears top receiver Allen Robinson (hamstring) also didn't practice Thursday, which appears to be part of a maintenance plan the team has utilized for him the last two weeks. Robinson was listed as a full participant for the Bears' walk-through Wednesday. Running back Cordarrelle Patterson was absent again due to a personal matter.
Rookie cornerback Jaylon Johnson (shoulder) practiced in a limited fashion for a second straight day Thursday. Nickel cornerback Buster Skrine remains sidelined due to a concussion, which has kept him out of the last four games.
The Saints haven't been listing star running back Alvin Kamara (COVID-19) and receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) on their injury report, because both are on respective reserve lists. New Orleans has until Saturday at 3 p.m. CT to activate either player ahead of Sunday. The Saints remain "hopeful" that Karama can return, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported.
Kickoff between the Bears (8-8) and Saints (12-4) comes at 3:40 p.m. CT from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
