Hicks’ absence comes as somewhat of a surprise, as he had indicated Friday he expected to play. Hicks hasn’t played since suffering the injury in a game on Nov. 8.

An anchor on the Bears’ defensive line and a game-changing player, Hicks has 13 tackles a 1.5 sacks in seven games this season.

In a corresponding move Saturday, the Bears flexed linebacker Charles Snowden from the practice squad to the active roster. They also ruled out defensive back Teez Tabor due to an illness.
