(670 The Score) Bears running back David Montgomery (ankle/knee) has been ruled out against the Giants on Sunday.

Montgomery didn't practice this week after suffering the injury during the first quarter of the Bears' 23-20 win over the Texans last Sunday at Soldier Field.

Without Montgomery, the Bears will turn to Khalil Herbert as their primary rusher. Herbert carried 20 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns Sunday.

Montgomery has rushed 35 times for 159 yards in parts of three games this season.

The Bears also ruled out cornerback Jaylon Johnson (quad) and safety Dane Cruikshank (hamstring) on Sunday. Edge rusher Robert Quinn (illness), kicker Cairo Santos (personal), receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) and linebacker Sterling Weatherford (ankle) are questionable to play. Linebacker Matt Adams (hamstring) is doubtful.

The Bears (2-1) and Giants (2-1) kick off at noon CT on Sunday from MetLife Stadium.
