Brisker earned first-team all-Big Ten and second-team AP All-American honors in 2021, recording 64 tackles, six tackles for a loss and two interceptions in 12 games.

"This moment is just really unbelievable," Brisker said. "It's crazy. I'm really thankful and humble that I'm a Chicago Bear."

Brisker projects as a likely starter for the Bears alongside fellow safety Eddie Jackson. Chicago didn't retain two-year starting safety Tashaun Gipson, who remains a free agent.

"A guy that we think has speed, range, ball skills, plus he brings the physical side of the game that we like with (Matt Eberflus) and this defense," said Bears national scout Chris Prescott, who scouted Brisker.

The Bears' selection of Brisker came nine picks after they chose Washington cornerback Kyler Gordon with the No. 39 overall pick.

The Bears later selected Tennessee receiver Velus Jones Jr. with the No. 71 overall pick in the third round.

Chicago holds three more picks in this draft -- two fifth-round picks and a sixth-round slot.
