LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) Bears defensive tackle Andrew Billings has signed a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2025 season, the team announced Thursday.

Billings, 28, has played in all eight games for the Bears this season, his first with Chicago. He has recorded 14 tackles and three tackles for a loss while earning the reputation as a stout presence on Chicago's defensive front.

“We’re extremely excited to be able to keep Andrew in Chicago,” general manager Ryan Poles said in a statement. “The professionalism, dependability and toughness he brings to our defense exhibit the type of player we want in our organization.”

The Bears initially signed Billings to a one-year deal this offseason. He's been in the NFL since 2017 and previously played for the Bengals, Browns and Raiders.

Billings has now secured a place with the Bears in their plans moving forward.

"He's the anchor of this defense," veteran pass rusher DeMarcus Walker said.
