LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- The Bears have waived receiver Javon Wims, the team announced Thursday morning.
Wims, 26, wasn't present with the Bears for their practice Thursday morning at Halas Hall. The also team re-signed cornerback Dionte Ruffin, who was waived earlier in August.

A seventh-round pick of the Bears in 2018, Wims had 28 receptions and two touchdowns over 33 games with the team. However, his tenure in Chicago will be best remembered for an incident last November in which he punched Saints cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson, earning an ejection.

Wims also had a costly drop of a touchdown pass during the Bears' playoff loss to the Saints in the wild-card round last January.
The Bears' roster stands at 80 players. They must reach the 53-man limit by 3 p.m. CT next Tuesday.
