Bears K Cairo Santos named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December

(670 The Score) Bears kicker Cairo Santos was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December/January.

Santos was 12-for-12 on field-goal attempts during the final five games of the regular season, part of his streak of hitting a Bears franchise record 27 consecutive field goals.

Santos, 29, is working in his first full season with the Bears and his second stint with the team. He made 30 of 32 field-goal attempts (93.8%) in the regular season.

Santos had previously kicked with the Bears, Chiefs, Rams, Titans and Buccaneers over the course of his seven-year NFL career. He's a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Bears (8-8) play the Saints (12-4) in the wild-card round Sunday. Kickoff is set for 3:40 p.m. CT from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
