(RADIO.COM Sports) It's 2021, so news and rumors about athletes and potential trades and signings leak in all sorts of ways. For example, like when playing video games.

On Saturday, a Reddit user by the name of ProbationOfficer2035 posted in the NFL subreddit that he was playing “Call of Duty: Warzone” and was paired with a female teammate. He wrote that he could hear the women’s husband in the background talking about a “deal” and how he would love to play in Pittsburgh.

The user said he tried to pry some info out of her, but she felt uncomfortable and only said her husband was an NFL player. The user said he looked up her gamertag (which he didn't provide in the post) and said the woman had pictures wearing Chicago Bears gear. The user, a Packers fan, added that he also heard the man say if no one calls in the next 30 minutes, he’s going to sign a three-year deal to facilitate a trade to be in Pittsburgh.

So, who's the mystery player and potential sign-and-trade?

It appears to be former Bears offensive lineman Rashaad Coward. His wife is an avid gamer and has a Twitch account that shows her playing games such as “Call of Duty.” Coward is also a free agent who wasn't tendered an offer by the Bears. Later on Saturday, after the post on Reddit was written, Coward sent a somewhat cryptic tweet about “God’s plan.”

On Sunday, Coward’s agent, Brian Adkins, followed up by promoting Coward’s wife’s gamer accounts and suggesting everyone should follow her, perhaps a nod to giving the Reddit post some credibility.

Coward played in 16 games for the Bears in 2020, starting five. As of Monday, Coward remained a free agent, so no deal has happened. If he does eventually join the Steelers though, we’ll at least know how that came to be.
