DJ Moore backs Ryan Poles, puts onus on players for Bears' struggles

(670 The Score) Amid the Bears’ nine-game losing streak and lack of competitiveness in a string of blowouts recently, general manager Ryan Poles’ leadership and work has drawn increased scrutiny.

On Monday, a day after the Bears’ 34-17 loss to the Lions at Soldier Field, Chicago receiver DJ Moore put the onus for the woes back on the players. In an appearance on the Mully & Haugh Show, Moore was asked whether there’s any sense in the Bears locker room that Poles’ job could be in danger as the team has fallen to 4-11.

"I don't think so,” Moore said. “He put together a great roster. He's been doing the best that he can. He can't go out there and play for us. We got to do that and play for him.”

If Poles is retained, the biggest decision on his plate is whom to hire as the next Bears head coach. The Bears are already doing plenty of work on that behind the scenes, and the search will kick into high gear once the regular season ends on Jan. 5.

"We're all on the same page as far as getting somebody in here who's going to lead this team in the right direction, have a solid game plan week in and week out and is just going to let it loose no matter what,” Moore said.
