LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) – The Bears expect Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson to miss a few weeks of camp after he suffered a leg injury while training, general manager Ryan Poles said Tuesday.
Poles declined to offer details on Johnson's status, only adding that it will be a multi-week absence. The Bears placed him on the non-football injury list Saturday.
Johnson is a five-year NFL veteran who earned Pro Bowl recognition in each of the last two years.
On Tuesday, the Bears signed cornerback Tre Flowers and defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon, Poles said. Flowers is a seven-year NFL veteran with 95 games of experience, including 44 starts. Kpassagnon is an eight-year veteran with 16.5 sacks in 104 career games.
Bears rookie tight end Colston Loveland (shoulder) and offensive tackle Braxton Jones (ankle) are ready to go for training camp, Poles said, but they’ll require an acclimation period at the beginning after long recoveries from injuries. Poles was pleased with their health as they reported for camp.
The Bears will hold their first practice of training camp on Wednesday morning at Halas Hall.
