(670 The Score) New Bears president/CEO Kevin Warren wasted no time in outlining his goals for the organization.
“I came here to win championships, to win the NFC North, to win the NFC, to win the Super Bowl, to help shepherd and lead a stadium development project, to embrace our alumni, to embrace our history and tradition and to embrace the absolutely incredible Chicago Bear fans,” Warren said at his introductory press conference Tuesday afternoon.

As everyone around here knows well, the Bears have won one Super Bowl in franchise history, with the famed 1985 team earning the title. But the Bears have failed to create sustained success over the past three decades, as they’ve reached the playoffs just six times in the past 28 years. The past 12 years have been particularly tough for the Bears, as they’ve won just one NFC North crown and haven’t won a playoff game that stretch.
After serving as Big Ten commissioner for the past three years, Warren has returned to the NFL and wants to help change the Bears’ direction. And while he shared his lofty goals, he also detailed how the organization will go about accomplishing them.
“We will work hard, we will have fun, we will be diligent, we will be detailed, we will be methodical,” Warren said. “We’ll operate with integrity and honor at every step of the way. This is a special time in the NFL, but most of all, it’s a special time for the Chicago Bears. Everything is ahead of us. Greatness is ahead of us. All we need to do now is go and grasp it, put in the time, energy and effort. This is the best NFL football city in the country. We have the best ownership, phenomenal leadership, good, young talented players, the best fans, phenomenal alumni, 30 people in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It’s all here, and I am so excited, I’m honored, I’m humbled to be able to come to work here each and every day.”
