(670 The Score) It didn’t take former Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long much time to find a new job after revealing he was coming out of retirement.
Long, 32, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Chiefs that will be worth up to $5 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Wednesday evening. Long played for the Bears from 2013-’19 before leaving the game ahead of the 2020 season.
"I miss (football) every day," Long said recently in an interview on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on 670 The Score.
The Bears drafted Long in the first round in 2013, and he played in 77 games with Chicago, starting 76. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Long was hampered by injuries in the latter half of his Bears tenure, including suffering a season-ending hip injury in 2019, when he played in just four games.
Long also visited with the Raiders ahead of joining the Chiefs in free agency, ESPN reported. Long should have the opportunity to earn a starting job in Kansas City, which released tackle Eric Fisher and tackle Mitchell Schwartz recently and also has watched as center Austin Reiter and guard Kelechi Osemele have hit free agency.
