(670 The Score) Running back Leonard Fournette is a free agent available for any team to sign after passing through waivers Tuesday afternoon.

But it doesn't appear he has any chance of landing in Chicago. Bears coach Matt Nagy on Wednesday indicated they won't be a suitor for Fournette, as he expressed comfort in the team's depth at the position. Fournette was waived by the Jaguars on Monday morning.

"We really like where we're at right now with our running back room," Nagy said when asked about Fournette.

The Bears could be without lead running back David Montgomery for their season opener against the Lions on Sept. 13. Montgomery suffered a groin injury during practice last week. The expectation is he'll miss two to four weeks, according to reports, but Nagy has been mum on his status for the start of the season.

The No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Fournette rushed for a career-best 1,152 yards and averaged 4.3 yards per carry last season. He added 76 receptions out of the backfield.

Montgomery rushed for 889 yards and averaged 3.7 yards per carry as a rookie in 2019. Should the Bears be without Montgomery, reserves Tarik Cohen, Cordarrelle Patterson and Ryan Nall would factor in.

The Bears are required to update the status of Montgomery next Wednesday with the release of their first injury report.
