(670 The Score) Veteran offensive lineman Michael Schofield has agreed to a deal to join the Bears, Kevin Fishbain of the Athletic reported Monday morning.

Schofield’s addition comes a day before Bears veterans are due to report for training camp and as the team continues to have uncertainty on its offensive line. Schofield, 31, played in 15 games for the Chargers in 2021, starting 12. He has appeared in 102 games and started 81 in his seven-year NFL career. Schofield figures to compete for a starting guard spot in training camp.

Schofield is an Orland Park native who’s the husband of Kendall Coyne Schofield, a standout player on the U.S. women’s hockey team and a player development coach for the Blackhawks.
