Bears' Khalil Mack will undergo season-ending foot surgery

(670 The Score) ​Bears star pass rusher Khalil Mack will undergo season-ending surgery on his left foot and be placed on injured reserve, head coach Matt Nagy confirmed to reporters on Friday afternoon.

Mack suffered the injury during a game on Sept. 26 but still played in the Bears' next four contests before being shut down to rest. Now, the initial plan has changed as Mack will have the injury surgically repaired. He will undergo surgery next week, Nagy said.

Mack, 30, had six sacks in seven games this season. He had one sack in each of the first three games following his injury.

In other moves Friday, the Bears signed veteran pass rusher Bruce Irvin to their practice squad and promoted pass rusher Cassius Marsh to the active roster. The team also placed inside linebacker Danny Trevathan (knee) on season-ending injured reserve.

The Bears (3-6) host the Ravens (6-3) on Sunday at Soldier Field.
