(670 The Score) The Bears will sign cornerback Desmond Trufant to a one-year deal, ESPN reported Friday afternoon.
An eight-year NFL veteran, Trufant will likely be the replacement for Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller, who's expected to be either released or traded in a move to clear $11 million in salary cap space.
Trufant, 30, has played in 103 career games, posting 14 interceptions. He played for the Falcons from 2013-'19 before joining the Lions for the 2020 campaign. The Bears haven't made the signing of Trufant official. Fuller remained on their roster as of late Friday afternoon as the team makes a formal decision on his future.
