(670 The Score) Defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. is set to return to the Bears.

Edwards and the Bears were finalizing a three-year deal Sunday morning, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported. Edwards was in line to become a free agent when the new league year officially opens Wednesday.

Edwards, 27, was a solid contributor to the Bears’ defensive line rotation in 2020, recording four sacks in 15 games after Chicago signed him last September. He’ll be suspended for the first two games of the 2021 season after violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug use policy.
