(670 The Score) Blackhawks forward Alex Nylander will miss four to six months after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee, the team announced Wednesday.
Nylander suffered the injury during the playoffs last season.
“He initially rested and trained conservatively,” team physician Dr. Michael Terry said in a statement. “Unfortunately, his symptoms came back when he started to skate. Alex had successful surgery on Monday to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee.”
Nylander, 22, had 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) in 65 games for Chicago last season. He also appeared in eight playoff games without recording a point.
The NHL’s 56-game regular season will begin on Jan. 13 and end on May 8, meaning Nylander is likely to miss all of it.
