Blackhawks add 9 more players on 2nd day of NHL Draft, including 3 in the 2nd round

(670 The Score) The Blackhawks had another busy day at the NHL Draft on Thursday.

Armed with plenty of draft capital, the Blackhawks made three selections in the second round and nine overall, one day after taking generational prospect Connor Bedard at No. 1 overall and speedy forward Oliver Moore at No.
19 overall in the first round.

Chicago took the first goalie of this draft class at No. 35 overall, where it selected 19-year-old netminder Adam Gajan, a Slovakia native. He’s set to play at the University of Minnesota-Duluth next season. Gajan posted a 2.57 goals-against-average and .917 save percentage for the Chippewa Steel of the NAHL last season.

At No. 44 overall in the second round, the Blackhawks selected 18-year-old Russian forward Roman Kantserov, who has 54 points (27 goals, 27 assists) in 45 games this season for Stalnye Lisy Magnitogorsk in the Minor Hockey League, the top junior league in Russia.

At No. 55 overall in the second round, Chicago nabbed 18-year-old Slovakian forward Martin Misiak, who had 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in 27 games for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL last season.

At No. 67 overall in the third round, the Blackhawks selected Canadian forward Nick Lardis, who will turn 18 in July. Lardis split time between the Peterborough Petes and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the OHL last season, recording 67 points in 69 games.

At No. 93 overall in the third round, the Blackhawks landed 18-year-old Czech center Jiri Felcman, who had 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) in 40 games for Langnau U20 in the Swiss Jr. league last season.

At No. 99 overall in the fourth round, Chicago selected 18-year-old Canadian center Alex Pharand, who posted 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) in 67 games for the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL in 2022-'23.

At No. 131 overall in the fifth round, the Blackhawks drafted 19-year-old Czech forward Marcel Marcel, who had 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 52 games for the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL) last season.

At No. 167 overall in the sixth round, the Blackhawks selected 20-year-old Swedish center Milton Oscarson, who played for Orebro in the Swedish Hockey League last season. The Blackhawks landed Oscarson with a pick they acquired from the Flyers. Chicago sent the No. 51 overall pick in the second round to Philadelphia for this sixth-rounder and a 2024 second-rounder.

At No. 195 overall in the seventh round, Chicago took 18-year-old Finnish defenseman Janne Peltonen.
