(670 The Score) The Blackhawks have brought back forward Adam Gaudette on a one-year deal, they announced Monday afternoon.
Gaudette’s new deal carries a $997,500 cap hit and runs through 2021-’22. His signing came after the Blackhawks declined to make a qualifying offer to Gaudette, which would’ve sent him to unrestricted free agency had the sides not reached a new deal.
Gaudette, 24, had four points (one goal, three assists) in seven games for Chicago last season after being acquired from Vancouver in a trade in April. He has 52 points in 153 career games across four NHL seasons.
In other roster news Monday, the Blackhawks made qualifying offers to winger Brandon Hagel, winger Alex Nylander and defenseman Nikita Zadorov. By doing so, they made each player a restricted free agent.
The Blackhawks declined to make qualifying offers to center Josh Dickinson, center David Kampf and center Pius Suter, putting all three on a path to unrestricted free agency.
