Blackhawks unveil schedule for 56-game regular season in 2021

(670 The Score) The Blackhawks on Wednesday unveiled their schedule for the 56-game regular season in 2021.

Chicago opens its season at the reigning Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning on Jan. 13. The Blackhawks will host the Detroit Red Wings for their home opener at a fan-less United Center on Jan. 22. They play six of their first eight games on the road. Here’s a look at the schedule below.

In an effort to reduce travel amid the pandemic, the NHL has realigned into four divisions for the 2021 season. Teams will only face other members of their division in the regular season. The top four teams in each division will qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Blackhawks are in the Central Division with the Lightning, Red Wings, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators.
