(670 The Score) Forward Dylan Strome and the Blackhawks agreed to a two-year contract Sunday, a day before the first practice of training camp.
The deal runs through the 2021-’22 season and carries a $3-million cap hit, the team announced. The agreement also ended the restricted free agency saga of Strome, as he had been unsigned for nearly three months. Strome, 23, had 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists) in 58 games last season. He had 51 points in 58 games in 2018-’19.
“We believe Dylan is ready to take the next step in his career and build off the strides he has made in his first two years in Chicago,” Blackhawks president of hockey operations Stan Bowman said in a statement. “He has great offensive instincts and brings creativity and skill to our team. We are thrilled he is now signed and able to join us tomorrow for the start of training camp.”
