(670 The Score) The Blackhawks are working on a potential trade of defenseman Duncan Keith, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet Canada reported.

Keith, 37, has spent his entire 16-year NHL career with the Blackhawks and has been a key part of their three Stanley Cup championships during his tenure with the team. Chicago selected him in the second round of the 2002 NHL Draft.

The trade is likely to send Keith to a team in either the Pacific Northwest or western Canada, according to the report. That would presumably put the expansion Seattle Kraken, the Vancouver Canucks, the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers in play as potential destinations.

Keith played in 54 games last season, recording four goals and 11 assists while averaging 23:25 minutes per game. He has two seasons left on his contract, which carries a $5.5-million cap hit annually.
