(670 The Score) The mystery surrounding the 15th and final standard spot on the Bulls’ roster was solved Monday afternoon.
Guard Matt Thomas made the roster to start the regular season. That slot had been up for grabs among several individuals after the Bulls entered training camp with 13 guaranteed contracts on their books. Forward Alize Johnson secured one of the two open roster slots with strong play in the preseason, and Thomas grabbed the other.
Thomas, 27, has played two NBA seasons, splitting time between the Raptors and Jazz. He has shot 41.3% on 3-pointers in his NBA career.
In another roster move Monday, the Bulls converted forward Tyler Cook’s contract to a two-way deal. He fills the second two-way spot alongside guard Devon Dotson, allowing him to split time with Bulls and the Windy City Bulls of the G League.
Chicago opens the regular season at Detroit on Wednesday. Pregame coverage starts at 5:45 p.m. on 670 The Score.
