LaVine’s intention is to play through the injury. He underwent an MRI on the thumb Tuesday, which revealed the damage, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reported.

LaVine is averaging 25.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists in the Bulls’ 4-0 start. He’s shooting 50% from the field and 44.4% on 3-pointers.

The Bulls host the Knicks on Thursday at the United Center.
