(670 The Score) Fired as Bulls general manager in April, Gar Forman has landed a new job.
The Pelicans have added Forman as a special advisor in their front office, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Thursday evening. His area of focus will be in scouting.
Forman joined the Bulls as a scout in 1998 and worked his way up from there. He was promoted to the team's general manager position in May 2009. Forman helped build the Bulls nucleus that won 62 games in 2010-'11 and remained an Eastern Conference contender during coach Tom Thibodeau's reign until 2015, but he also played a leading role in the organization’s ensuing downturn. The Bulls fired him on the same April 13 morning in which they installed Arturas Karnisovas as their new executive vice president of basketball operations.
