(670 The Score) The Cubs’ woes continued over the weekend.
In losing two of three games to the rival Cardinals at Wrigley Field, the Cubs have now dropped 16 of their past 23 games and fallen to 34-38, which is 8.5 games behind the NL Central-leading Brewers.
The Cubs haven’t won a three-game series since defeating the Pirates twice from May 10-12. They did beat the MLB-worst White Sox on June 4-5 in a short two-game series at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs are 20th in MLB in averaging 4.1 runs per game, and the offense has been especially inconsistent lately. The Cubs have produced just 14 runs in their past six games, including just six in three games against the Cardinals over the weekend.
It all begs the question: Are the Cubs the most disappointing team in baseball? And who's the most disappointing player on their team? Mike Mulligan and David Haugh debated that on their show Monday morning.
