Cubs activate OF Jake Marisnick from injured list

(670 The Score) The Cubs have activated outfielder Jake Marisnick from the injured list, they announced before starting a series against the Padres on Monday night.

Marisnick had been sidelined since suffering a right hamstring strain on May 9. Marisnick, 30, joined the Cubs on a one-year deal this past offseason. He had emerged as a key piece in the team's outfield rotation, hitting .264 with four home runs, 14 RBIs and a .973 OPS in 27 games this season.

In a corresponding move, Chicago optioned right-hander Kohl Stewart to Triple-A Iowa. He has a 3.12 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 8 2/3 innings across two starts this season.
