(670 The Score) The Cubs on Friday claimed infielder Rylan Bannon off waivers from the Braves, the team announced.
Bannon, 26, has appeared in five MLB games, batting 2-of-14 in that limited playing time. He’s a career .253 hitter with an .805 OPS in five minor league seasons. Bannon hit .249 with 13 homers, 77 RBIs and a .788 OPS at the Triple-A level in 2022. The Braves recently designated him for assignment.
Bannon has extensive experience playing third base and second base in the minor leagues. He primarily played third base in 2022.
The Cubs’ 40-man roster now sits at 39 players.
