It marks the 27-year-old Happ’s first All-Star honor. He was hitting .277 with eight homers, 40 RBIs and an .821 OPS in 83 games entering play Sunday.

Happ will join teammate Willson Contreras in Los Angeles, as fans previously voted Contreras in as the National League’s starting catcher. The All-Star Game will be held July 19 at Dodger Stadium.
