(670 The Score) The Cubs have placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the seven-day concussion list, they announced Tuesday afternoon.
Heyward took a knee to the head while sliding into third base Saturday. The move is retroactive to Sunday. Heyward is hitting .214 with eight homers, 30 RBIs and a .627 OPS in 104 games.
In a corresponding move, Chicago selected outfielder Trayce Thompson from Triple-A Iowa. Thompson, 30, was hitting .235 with 21 homers, 63 RBIs and an .827 OPS in 92 games in the minor leagues this season.
