Contreras garnered 65% of the votes in the final head-to-head matchup against Braves catcher Travis d’Arnaud. This marks Contreras’ third All-Star honor, as he also made it in 2018 and 2019.

Contreras, 30, is hitting .274 with 13 homers, 35 RBIs and an .890 OPS in 71 games. He’s set to be a free agent at season’s end. And with contract extension discussions failing to progress with the team, Contreras is a prime candidate to be dealt ahead of the Aug. 2 trade deadline.

Position player starters were revealed Friday. The pitchers and reserves for the All-Star Game will be announced Sunday evening. The All-Star Game will be held July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
