(670 The Score) Former ace Kerry Wood and former slugging third baseman Aramis Ramirez were named to the Cubs Hall of Fame as the class of 2024, the team announced during the opening ceremonies of Cubs Convention on Friday evening.

Wood was a first-round pick of the Cubs in 1995 who electrified fans and befuddled opposing hitters with his nasty stuff. He compiled a 3.67 ERA in 12 seasons for the Cubs, whom he played for from 1998-2008 and again in 2011-’12. Wood struck out 10.3 batters per nine innings in his Cubs career, and he was a two-time All-Star. Wood also famously struck out 20 batters in a single game in 1998, which is still tied for an MLB record.

Ramirez played nine seasons for the Cubs, from 2003-’11, earning All-Star honors for them in 2005 and 2008. He hit .294 with 239 homers and 806 RBIs in his Cubs career.

Both Wood and Ramirez were key members of the 2003 Cubs team that lost in seven games in the National League Championship Series.
