Christopher Sorley, a Cubs season-ticket holder whose nickname traces back years ago to his propensity to drink Mai Tais in the bleachers, made his plea after he did all he could to play a peacemaking role in a fight in the Wrigley Field bleachers Tuesday evening during the Cubs’ loss to the Cardinals in the nightcap of a doubleheader.

“I don’t want to see anybody fighting,” Sorley said on the Gabe Ramirez Show on 670 The Score on Thursday evening. “Wrigley Field is the Friendly Confines for a reason. We want to make sure everyone has a good time – young, old, from all walks of life, from all different places. That makes me feel good, when people come to a place called the Friendly Confines and they have a good time, and fighting ain’t a good time – especially in the bleachers.”

Mai Tai Guy had simple advice he wanted to give anyone thinking about fighting.

“It’s not worth it,” he said. “I told people the other day, you can’t go to the bar after the game if you’re in handcuffs. It’s not worth it over a spilled beer for $12 – it’s not worth your time, your effort, your energy. Because there’s too many more important things we got going on in the world today than a spilled beer snake.

“Let’s enjoy the game, let’s have fun, have a few drinks. There’s no need to fight. If you guys want to fight, take it outside.”
