(670 The Score) Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong hit his 24th and 25th homers of the season in his club’s 8-1 win against the Twins on Thursday afternoon.
In doing so, Crow-Armstrong became the first player in MLB history to post 25 homers, 25 steals and 70 RBIs before the All-Star break. Amid his breakout season, the 23-year-old Crow-Armstrong was elected an All-Star Game starter. He’ll man center field for the National League next Tuesday in Atlanta.
“He’s a superstar,” 670 The Score host Ruthie Polinsky said on the Mully & Haugh Show on Friday morning. “It’d done. It’s finalized. He honestly could be the face of the league right now. You could make an argument that he’s a superstar the way he plays the game, the energy, the personality.
Everything about it just awesome. PC-awesome. What I like so much about yesterday and what I think is very emblematic of this season for this offense is they all feed off him. It just feels like when PCA wakes up, everyone wakes up.”
