(670 The Score) The Cubs have agreed to terms with Kansas State left-hander Jordan Wicks, Russ Dorsey of the Sun-Times reported Friday afternoon.
The Cubs selected Wicks with the No. 21 overall pick in the first round of the amateur draft last Sunday. He went 6-3 with a 3.70 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 15 starts in 2021, when he was named a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball. He struck out 118 batters in 92 1/3 innings.
Additionally, the Cubs have signed Arkansas outfielder Christian Franklin (fourth-round pick) and Quincy University left-hander Riley Martin (sixth round), according to Carlos Collazo of Baseball America.
