(670 The Score) A familiar face is returning to the Cubs.
Reliever Pedro Strop has agreed to a deal to return to Chicago, Jesse Rogers of ESPN reported Friday evening. Strop played for the Cubs from 2013-’19 before signing with the Reds this past offseason. He made just four appearances for Cincinnati this season before the organization designated him for assignment recently.
Strop, 35, had a 3.86 ERA in four appearances for the Reds. He had battled a groin injury as well. Strop had a highly successful tenure with the Cubs for six-and-a-half seasons, posting a 2.90 ERA in his career in Chicago.
Strop will report to the Cubs’ alternate camp in South Bend, Rogers reported.
