(670 The Score) Lefty reliever Andrew Chafin has agreed to return to the Cubs on a one-year deal that includes a 2022 mutual option, according to multiple reports Tuesday night.

The Cubs acquired Chafin from the Diamondbacks in a trade late last August. He then made four appearances down the stretch for the Cubs, logging three innings and allowing one run. Chafin, 30, has a career 3.67 ERA in seven MLB seasons.

Chafin’s deal is worth $2.25 million in 2021, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported. The mutual option for 2022 will be $5.25 million with a $500,000 buyout.

Zach Buchanan of the Athletic first reported the news of Chafin and the Cubs agreeing on a deal.
