Colson Montgomery, Oscar Colas among the 26 non-roster invites to White Sox spring training

(670 The Score) Top prospects Colson Montgomery and Oscar Colas were among the 26 players to receive non-roster invites to White Sox spring training, the team announced Thursday.

The shortstop Montgomery (No. 1) and outfielder Colas (No. 2) are the White Sox’s top two prospects, according to MLB Pipeline. Colas will have every opportunity to win the White Sox’s starting right field job in spring training, manager Pedro Grifol told Inside the Clubhouse on 670 The Score last weekend.

Nine players signed minor league contracts with the White Sox and will join the club in big league spring training camp: right-hander Keynan Middleton, right-hander Jesse Scholtens, left-hander Nate Fisher, catcher Sebastian Rivero, infielder Hanser Alberto, infielder Erik Gonzalez, outfielder Billy Hamilton, outfielder Jake Marisnick and outfielder Victor Reyes

The other players in the organization to receive a non-roster invite are right-hander Sean Burke, right-hander Declan Cronin, right-hander Edgar Navarro, right-hander Lane Ramsey, right-hander Matthew Thompson, left-hander Fraser Ellard, left-hander Samuel Peralta, left-hander Andrew Perez, catcher Adam Hackenberg, catcher Evan Skoug, infielder Moises Castillo, infielder Luis Mieses, infielder Zach Remillard, outfielder Yoelqui Cespedes and outfielder Adam Haseley.

White Sox pitchers and catchers will report to spring training on Feb. 15. Positions players will report on Feb. 20, when the first full-squad workout is set to take place.
