(670 The Score) Once a team with grand hopes, the White Sox are one of the greatest disappointments in Major League Baseball this season. It’s becoming clear how this downfall occurred.
Yankees right-hander Keynan Middleton, who was traded by the White Sox last week, spoke to ESPN and ripped into the culture of his former team.
"We came in with no rules," Middleton told ESPN’s Jesse Rogers. "I don't know how you police the culture if there are no rules or guidelines to follow because everyone is doing their own thing. Like, how do you say anything about it because there are no rules?
"You have rookies sleeping in the bullpen during the game. You have guys missing meetings. You have guys missing PFPs (pitcher fielding practices), and there are no consequences for any of this stuff."
The White Sox are 45-68 after taking two out of three from the Guardians this weekend in Cleveland, a series that was marred by a brawl Saturday involving shortstop Tim Anderson.
Prior to last Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline, the White Sox traded away pitchers Lucas Giolito, Lance Lynn, Joe Kelly, Kendall Graveman, Reynaldo Lopez and Middleton, plus slugger Jake Burger.
The White Sox host Middleton and the Yankees on Monday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
