(670 The Score) Nomar Mazara broke into the big leagues as a prized prospect in 2016 with a Rangers team that won the AL West.

Now right fielder for the White Sox, Mazara hadn't experiencing consistent winning since that season until arriving on the South Side for 2020. Though he's just 25, Mazara is one of the veteran players on this young White Sox team.

With his new club, Mazara has watched every day as young teammates like Luis Robert, Eloy Jimenez, Yoan Moncada and more are learning to handle success early in their careers. Mazara admits he has been surprised by how a talented team has also showcased a strong work ethic.

"They're hungry," Mazara said. "They're hungry. They want to get better. Especially with the young guys. They come ready to play. We got a good mix. That's something the younger guys go out there and be more relaxed. They're hungry. They come to the field every day to try to get better. They're talented, but they don't just sit at their locker like, 'Oh, I'm good, I'm in the big leagues.' They try to get better every day.

"Here, they're really hungry. They know people are expecting a lot from them."

The White Sox earned sole possession of first place in the AL Central on Monday night after a come-from-behind 8-5 win against the Twins in Minnesota. They received a boost in the go-ahead ninth inning when Mazara drove in two insurance runs with a single, breaking his personal slump.

Mazara is slotted sixth in the lineup as the White Sox take on the Twins in the second contest of their three-game series Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. CT from Target Field in Minneapolis.
