(670 The Score) The White Sox are looking for reinforcement at second base after Nick Madrigal’s season-ending hamstring injury.

Chicago has expressed interest in trading for Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Eduardo Escobar, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported Monday. Escobar, 32, is hitting .240 with 15 homers, 45 RBIs and a .743 OPS in 70 games this season.

Escobar has started 46 games at third base and 23 games at second base this season. He's signed through the end of this 2021 season, so he’d likely be a rental player should the White Sox acquire him. The White Sox expect Madrigal to be ready for 2022 spring training without restrictions.
