(670 The Score) With their grasp on the AL Central slipping, the White Sox made a series of roster moves Thursday looking for reinforcement.

The White Sox have activated left-hander Aaron Bummer and left-hander Carlos Rodon off the injured list ahead of their series finale at the Cleveland Indians. In corresponding moves, Chicago designated right-hander Steve Cishek and left-hander Ross Detwiler for assignment.

Bummer had been sidelined since Aug. 7 by a biceps injury. He has a 1.23 ERA in seven appearances this season. Bummer was spectacular out of the White Sox’s bullpen in 2019, posting a 2.13 ERA and 0.99 WHIP.

Rodon had been on the injured list since Aug. 4 with left shoulder soreness. He posted a 9.53 ERA in two starts earlier this season, allowing six earned runs in 5 2/3 innings.

Cishek, 34, had struggled in compiling a 5.40 ERA in 22 appearances this season, his first with the White Sox. Detwiler, 34, had a 3.20 ERA in 16 relief appearances.

After losing four straight games, the White Sox are 34-22 and sit a half-game behind the AL Central-leading Twins.
