(670 The Score) A day after learning center fielder Luis Robert will be out for months with a serious hip injury, the White Sox on Tuesday added outfielder Brian Goodwin on a minor league deal, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported.
Goodwin, 30, recently hit the open market after exercising an opt-out clause in his minor league deal with the Pirates. He has hit .250 with a .772 OPS across five MLB seasons, splitting time with the Nationals, Royals, Angels and Reds at the big league level. Goodwin hit .163 with a .563 OPS in 55 plate appearances across 20 games for Cincinnati in 2020.
In other roster news, the White Sox recalled infielder Danny Mendick from Triple-A Charlotte and officially placed Robert on the 10-day injured list. Mendick is hitting .375 with two RBIs in eight games for the White Sox this season.
