(670 The Score) The White Sox have purchased the contract of infielder Yolmer Sanchez from their alternate camp in Schaumburg and added him to their active roster, they announced Monday.
In a corresponding move, Chicago designated infielder Ryan Goins for assignment.
Sanchez, 28, now reunites with the White Sox, for whom he played from 2014-’19 before being non-tendered last offseason. He landed with the Giants, who released him last week. The White Sox then added Sanchez on a minor league deal.
Sanchez didn’t appear in an MLB game for the Giants this season. He’s a career .244 hitter with a .656 OPS. Sanchez won a Gold Glove in 2019, when he also hit .252 with two homers, 43 RBIs and a .638 OPS in 149 games with the White Sox.
