(670 The Score) The White Sox have called up right-hander Davis Martin from Triple-A Charlotte, they announced Friday.
Martin has a 4.67 ERA in six appearances, including three starts, for the White Sox this season. He takes the roster spot of right-hander Reynaldo Lopez, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a lower back strain.
Additionally, the White Sox outrighted right-hander Parker Markel to Triple-A Charlotte, a move that opened up a 40-man roster spot, as it now sits at 39. The White Sox claimed Markel off waivers from the Athletics in June. He has a 6.43 ERA in 15 appearances at Triple-A Charlotte this season.
