White Sox claim infielder Jacob Amaya off waivers from Astros amid a series of roster moves

(670 The Score) The White Sox claimed infielder Jacob Amaya off waivers from the Astros amid a series of roster moves Monday.

Chicago also recalled left-hander Sammy Peralta and infielder Bryan Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte, optioned left-hander Ky Bush to Triple-A and designated infielder Nick Senzel for assignment.

Amaya, 25, was recently designated for assignment by the Astros. He hit .221 with five homers and 32 RBIs in 73 games at Triple-A Sugar Land this season. He has mostly played second base and shortstop while also appearing in a few games at third base. He appeared in one game for the big league Astros this season as a defensive replacement.

Peralta, 26, has posted a 1.27 ERA in 20 appearances at Charlotte in 2024. He has a 5.06 ERA in seven relief appearances over three stints with the White Sox this year.

Ramos, 22, hit .196 with two RBIs in 15 games for the White Sox in May. He was hitting .257 with eight homers and 29 RBIs in 59 games at Triple-A.

Bush, 24, is 0-3 with a 5.60 ERA in four starts for the White Sox this season. He made his MLB debut on Aug. 5.

Senzel, 29, hit .100 (3-for-30) in 10 games for the White Sox after signing with them in mid-July.

The White Sox, who are an MLB-worst 31-100, host the Tigers on Monday evening at Guaranteed Rate Field.
